In recent years, San Diego Comic-Con has become extremely difficult to score badges for. But, the good news is that there are a ton of free events that do not require a badge. Adult Swim On The Green was one of those events. The event took place behind the San Diego Convention Center on the grass area, which offered an awesome water view. As a result, Adult Swim landed a perfect location.
Not only was it free, but Adult Swim also gave away free stuff. They even had a booth where they printed a t-shirt for you. All you had to do was wait in a line, but once attendees got to the front they were able to chose their shirt color and design. My two favorite designs were Rick & Morty, and Toonami. After all, you can’t beat free!
Speaking of free, there were free carnival style games there too. Players got a pink ticket every time they won a game, and a yellow ticket for playing or coming close to winning. After collecting tickets players went to the prize booth to collect a prize. There were three tiers, but the goal for most was the third tier. That tier was 35 yellow tickets or 1 pink ticket. Prizes consisted of Mr. Poopy Head Body Pillow from Rick & Morty, Rick & Morty stuffed dolls and a few other prizes. Those were diffently the most popular prizes. However, the best prices went pretty fast each day.
On top of all the free swag and prizes Adult Swim blasted trippy music and played psychedelic images on the big screen. The bottom line is that Adult Swim knows how to throw a killer Comic Con event. Above all, this was a must see event for those with no badge.
