Vinyl Me Please is a monthly vinyl subscription service were they send you an exclusive pressing of a record that the folks at Vinyl Me Please hand pick every month. This month’s pressing was Weezer’s masterpiece second album, Pinkerton. Weezer’s second album was originally going to be titled “Songs From The Black Hole”, and have a space opera theme, but in the end those plans were abandoned. Although, Pinkerton was a commercial failure upon it’s release in 1996; the record went on to have a cult following. Pinkerton’s initial failure was blamed by the record’s darker themes and overplayed songs from the first album.
As you can see from the photo above; Vinyl Me Please’s exclusive pressing has an awesome pop-up. I love the thought Vinyl Me Please put into this release, and the pop-up feature isn’t even the best part of this month’s release. Every month they include an exclusive print and cocktail recipe too. Last, but not least the vinyl it self is breath taking. The vinyl has a stunning blue and black design that when you hold it up to the light it looks like you are looking up from below the water to the surface. I recommend that all music lovers try Vinyl Me Please, and the best part about this service is that they tell you what album they are sending you in advance, so if you don’t like that album you can cancel and come back the next month.
