Flashback Mondays – Crash Edition – Reboot Please!
What was the one game that got you into gaming? Did it feel like magic or something out of this world, because that is exactly what Crash Banicoot felt like for me. I can still remember the first time I picked up the controller and played for the first time. I can still remember those feelings of wonder and excitement during the finale moments of the game fighting the last boss. I want to feel that feeling again; no I demand it! Come on Naughty Dog make Crash Banicoot great again.
Recently, I played Crash Banicoot for the first time in years, and all those feelings I had the first time around came rushing back to me. That got me thinking that I want a Crash reboot super badly, or at least a new sequel from Naughty Dog. On top of that it reminded me how great and ahead of it’s time Playstation was. When you compare the original Crash game to similar games from that generation you can really see the difference in how much better the graphics and controls were. Furthermore, with the excellent controls and the stunning 3D environments it made the boss fights very exciting. To this day the original Crash Banicoot stands the test of time, and is just as fun as I remember.
The biggest reason why I want a complete reboot is that Crash is one of the few characters that stand out best from all the other console generations. Now, I’m not saying that we don’t have memorable characters and stories from the current generation, but rather there are very few good platform games from this generation with great characters and stories.
After all, Crash is what practically what made Playstation great, and it is a shame that they haven’t had a exclusive Crash game on Playstation in years. I just want to make things clear. Yes, I want a new Crash game, but I only want Naughty Dog to make it. If a new PlayStation exclusive Crash game ever came back to Playstation they should make no compromises. The developer should be Naughty Dog or no one.
