After being disappointed with the last Pokémon strategy guide I was a little hesitant about picking up the guide for the new Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games, but it turns out I’m actually quite pleased with it. That being said I’m still not 100 percent satisfied with this guide! I just wish that they would had included a full Pokémon Index instead of just an Pokémon Native Index to the Hoenn Region. Furthermore, I don’t understand why the full Official Index guide comes out so late! It’s not released until March 2015, and by that time I would had already completed these games. Now that the Index issue is out of the way lets get into what you’ll find in this guide, the pros, and of course the cons.
What’s In The Guide:
Detailed Interview with the Creators of Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire.
Hoenn Regional Map
Detailed walkthrough of the two games that include training, routes, cities, and gyms information.
Belief Pokémon Index of the Hoenn Region. This Index shows you the Pokémon’s type, egg group, ability, hidden ability, and main way to obtain them.
Adventure Data: Gives players information about items in the games, and and their effects.
And much more that’s too much to list here.
Very Detailed Walkthrough with tons of information, and useful tips.
Detailed maps and images of the games.
Tips on completing your Index
Thick book with lots of helpful information.
Doesn’t offer players a complete Pokémon Index, and the full Index is released way too late. The missing Complete Index is really the only con, but it’s a big one!
This guide is a nice addition to the two games, but it’s missing some critical information about the Index, but at the same time the walkthrough itself is very useful and is filled with other important information. I just wish that Nintendo would release the Pokémon Index a lot sooner. That all being said this guide is still worth getting if you’re a completist and want to find every little thing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire has to offer.
